Ladbrokes in Hot Water with ASA Again

Ladbrokes Casino It seems some people will complain about absolutely anything as Ladbrokes Casino is in hot water with the ASA again. Their new online casino advert received just one complaint but that’s all it takes for the ASA to investigate. It seems a little petty and one cannot help wondering if some other online slots or casino provider just wants to stick a spoke into Ladbrokes very successful wheels.

It’s the third time the organisation have come under the scrutiny of the advertising standards agency in recent years but it is the first time the complaint has been upheld.

You may have seen the full page adverts in the Sun newspaper this week, as Ladbrokes Casino have taken the unprecedented step of trying to find out who the complainant is. The newspaper ad features a mug-shot made up of lots of photo-fits and is titled ‘Missing-A funny bone’.

Ladbrokes Casino say the primary purpose of their television adverts is to make people laugh, they have always branded their products in a light-hearted, humorous way as they believe humour is crucial to communicating with their target audience.

Having seen the Ladbrokes Casino advert I would have to say I really do think someone is missing a funny bone, either that or one of Ladbrokes competitors think the way in business is to try and wipe out the competition. If so then it has not worked as Ladbrokes Casino have got far more publicity from the ads being banned than they would have otherwise. The ad is still available to view on You Tube if anyone would like a giggle.
