Like Putting your Money in a Slot Machine

If you’ve been reading the Daily Telegraph this week then you’ll have read the interview given by Keith Chegwin on love, life and money. Part of the interview really stuck out for me where he says that buying shares is like putting your money in a slot machine. Now I’m not sure whether Keith Chegwin has been playing slots at Casinos or partaking in a little online slot action but is buying shares just like gambling? 

I guess it is and as anyone who has done either will know, it’s easy to win a lot or lose a lot and in the current financial climate most of us would probably be more inclined to put our money into a slot machine than buy shares, especially in one of the high street banks.

The interview focuses on many parts of the celebrities life but to concentrate on the part in question and put it into perspective, Keith Chegwin is asked by the interviewer if he has ever invested in shares. He then goes on to answer that he doesn’t trust financial advisers and after a bad experience buying shares when he was 21 he believes that buying shares is like putting your money into a slot machine.
